Christmas Letter 2017

Merry Christmas! What a year this has been. I look back and cannot believe that this has become my life sometimes. Get some coffee or tea and sit back and read. (If you think I talk a lot, then oh, be ready to read and get to know me!) My job has stayed pretty much the same. I am still teaching all subjects for first grade. Over the summer, I moved classrooms. I had to pack up 3 years of stuff and comfort zone, but it was worth it. My room is now a bit bigger and on the bottom floor, which has been nice. Actually, my teaching team changed over the summer too. I became the team lead (mostly just in name) and the former team lead left to another grade level. This school year has been quite an adjust for me. I have had to grow and learn so much! I look at who I was in August and I'm not the same person. I've had to turn into a leader, learn to keep quiet and hold my tongue (which is hard if you know me!), and learn to delegate. Change is never easy, so it has come with many te...

Christmas Letter 2016

Well, it's time for me to write again. Funny, I used to love writing all the time and now it takes me forever to write. Maybe it's because I'm always writing lesson plans. :) School: So work has been amazing this past year. We finished out last school year pretty well, even with the rough circumstances that we had. I enjoy seeing them in the hallways this year. Most of the summer, I got to work in my classroom with some lovely helpers! (More on summer later though.) This year has been amazing. I love going to work, even more than last year. I have such a great team that I work with and I wouldn't trade them for the world. They make planning and such so much easier. We work so well together and got a brand new addition this year. It's like we've been a team forever, which is so nice. I also have to say that my administration has been a huge part of why I love going to work as well. We got a new curriculum support person whom has been extremely helpful, along wi...

Christmas Letter 2015

This year, the letter is only going to be digital. I didn't have time for cards this year. It's been super busy and hectic around here since school started. The year started with a new interim principal. It was a rough experience, as change always is. We were challenged to work harder and teach better. It made me become a better version of myself, even though it was a difficult time. My students did well and it was sad to see them go in June. I'd been with them for 2 years, so it was hard to let my precious little ones go. I also was voted Teacher of the Year for my campus by my peers for the 2015-2016 school year. Over the summer, I was able to visit many friends and family. I started making a pit stop in Georgia to see my friends Jeanne and her family. Then, I went up to visit my family in New Jersey. I spent most of June running back and forth to see friends and family. I was able to be at my Grandma's 80th birthday party and the family reunion for her side of th...

Christmas Letter 2014

Another year is over already. It's hard to imagine that things have come so far. Let's recap the year. I was able to start the new year with my family and my little niece. I was able to go to my parents' house and visit for the holidays. On the way back to Texas, I was able to visit David (my brother), Sarah (his wife) and Elsie (my niece). We spent the new year together with Anne (my cousin). We had a wonderful time before I headed back to the South. Over spring break, I was able to go to Georgia and visit my good friend, Jeanne, and her family, along with some of my own family. I drove to Georgia and visited Jeanne at her new house in Georgia. Then, I traveled 4 more hours and visit my Gram at her house. I was able to see Uncle Tim and Auntie Ann as well. I toured Savannah, GA during the St. Patrick's day colored water time period. I enjoyed seeing my Gram and Savannah. Then, I went back to Jeanne's where I was able to also see Helen in GA and spend time at th...

Christmas Letter 2013

Greetings! It is that time of year again. What a wonderful time of learning and discovery this year has been for me. I hope that your year also has been full of God's wonder as well. As usual, I am excited to share my year with you. My job opportunities have been going well. The year began with me still working at the Christian preschool here in town. I was still working with the music department there. Following the huge Christmas program, we began to work on the spring program, which included 2 yrs old all the way through Kindergarten. The program turned out great and was so much fun to work on. Then began our summer program! For the summer program, I worked in music, along with doing some office work and handling subs/scheduling. It was so much fun being able to work with the staff in that capacity. During the summer, I went through quite a few different interviews, but nothing was seeming to pan out. Then, I was able to get one at an elementary school in town. Since Augus...

**In order to save money and trees, I have decided to make my Christmas letter available online instead of printing it. Please save this address for future letters!** It's hard to believe this year is almost over. I feel as if it isn't even time for a year to be over yet, although it could be because of Texas's interesting choice in weather! :) I pray that this year has kept you safe and well. At the beginning of the year, I had high hopes of finding a new job but that just did not happen. The blessing in disguise did allow me to complete one of my graduate projects at my old job, so I was able to see many of my friends and old faces. It was lovely to see them and reunite with some of my lovely old students. Their beautiful faces always brightened up my day! Not having a job also allowed me to focus solely on my school work. So, as per my initial goal, I completed my degree with a 4.0! I am thrilled to know that I was able to accomplish that goal, graduate in 2 years,...

Christmas Letter 2011

Another year has flown by and what an eventful year it has been! I hope that your year has been as blessed and eventful as mine.             Job: I finished up my third year of teaching in June. Due to budget cuts in the district and throughout the state, it has been difficult finding a job. Through God’s provision, I have been able to make ends meet. I have been tutoring while looking for a job. Working one-on-one with struggling students has given me the ability to continue learning about learning disabilities.  I am enjoying the tutoring, but I would like to get back into the classroom again. Please keep this job situation in your prayers.           School: This year has been such a learning experience with all the classes I am taking. It has been so enlightening and opened some doors to further opportunities. I have enjoyed every class that I have taken. My goal is to complete m...
