Christmas Letter 2016

Well, it's time for me to write again. Funny, I used to love writing all the time and now it takes me forever to write. Maybe it's because I'm always writing lesson plans. :)

School: So work has been amazing this past year. We finished out last school year pretty well, even with the rough circumstances that we had. I enjoy seeing them in the hallways this year. Most of the summer, I got to work in my classroom with some lovely helpers! (More on summer later though.) This year has been amazing. I love going to work, even more than last year. I have such a great team that I work with and I wouldn't trade them for the world. They make planning and such so much easier. We work so well together and got a brand new addition this year. It's like we've been a team forever, which is so nice. I also have to say that my administration has been a huge part of why I love going to work as well. We got a new curriculum support person whom has been extremely helpful, along with my principal. When you work for awesome people, you tend to love doing what you do even more. My students are growing so much! I love watching them grow. They have been doing great all semester. I love my new little group of kiddos. I find that each year I teach better, but I have to say that this year is the best year of teaching that I have ever done. We have been pushed to be stronger and better teachers. Set the bar high and it is always my goal to reach it and go higher. :)

Summer: So this summer, I got to have a lovely visit from my cousin, Kaitlyn. She got to spend an entire week with me by herself! It was her first time flying and she did fabulous. We got to do quite a few things. Along with activities, I also introduced her to my summer helpers whom are kids of coworkers. We all worked at my school part of the time. One day, we went to G-Force, which is an indoor trampoline place. We had so much fun hanging out together and making videos. We had a sleepover night and even got our nails and toes done together. It was quite adventurous! I took Kaitlyn to Gator and Friends where she got to hold an alligator and feed some of the animals in the area. She had a lovely time and so did I. The rest of the summer, I got to spend some time with my coworker's daughter, which was fun. We even had some random sleepovers, which were hilarious. It was like having a younger sister. (The best part is that she comes to visit me after school sometimes as well.)

Personal: My personal life hasn't gotten too exciting. I have finally found a hair place that I like. I can get a great perm and color there. I'm excited to have somewhere in Texas I can go whenever I can't make it back to NJ for my favorite hairdresser. I sang for Christmas time at Winterfield UMC with my old "boss" at SFLC. I have been singing with that choir every year since 2013. It's wonderful. I love being able to sing with a group of people. I've also been able to sing with a small group at school as well. A couple of us get together and sing acapella with each other. It is fun sing that type of music again as well.

I hope that y'all have a blessed Christmas and new year. May 2017 be filled with many blessings and wonderful things to come.
