Christmas Letter 2010

Another year has gone by. So much has happened this year, but I am glad that God has chosen to allow me another blessed year. During such hard economic times, I am truly blessed to have a job and a place to live.
Job… I am now in the middle of my second year at my jobl. I am still teaching first grade and loving it. My coworkers are great. We have an awesome team this year. We work really well together and I enjoy working with them. We have lots of laughs and fun. It helps to balance out the stress of working in the public school system. The kids are great and I love working with the younger age level. There is just something about helping children learn to read at an early age and watching them excel.
School… This fall I decided to return to school and get my Master of Education degree for Curriculum and Instruction. I have always been intrigued by instruction. At this point, I am unsure whether or not I would really want to leave the classroom as a teacher, but this degree will provide that opportunity if I decide to take it. I have been learning many things and realizing what an amazing district I teach in. I take 3 classes a semester, which is 7 credit hours a semester. Although I take one class at a time, it can be very difficult and stressful to complete grad school work along with work I must do for my job. I have about two more years to go, so please keep me in prayer as I attempt to finish this goal.
Life… I am now seriously dating someone. We have known each other for about four or five years and have been dating since July. Things have been going well. I haven’t brought him home yet, but people down here in Texas have met him and they like him. We will see how things go, but both of us have very high hopes.
Thanksgiving this year I went to Willow Valley again. Grandpa died in October, so it was quite a different Thanksgiving. I am glad that I was able to celebrate it with family. There were some rough spots, but we got through it and remembered all the great times we shared together. I was able to spend some time with my mom and cousin shopping. Thanks to my relatives, I was able to go and visit him before he died and attend the memorial service for him. Since I moved to Texas, these past couple of months I have been to the Northeast a lot more than I ever have.
I had been very active in my church with the youth group, teen Sunday school, and praise team. However, I feel that God may be changing my plans just a bit. Only time will be able to tell what God has in store. I hope that this letter finds you well and may God bless your holiday season and New Year. Do not forget the true meaning of Christmas. Jesus should be at the forefront of our minds, for without Him we would have no reason to celebrate. Please keep me in your prayers, as I do the same for you. Be sure to keep in touch. God bless!
